Slide Shows

Adding slide shows is straight forward using jQuery. But adding a slide show partially obscurred by parts of the Web page is tricky. Make your slide show an integral part of your Web page by placing it in non-rectangular frame. You can see an example of this at www.kmm.org. This example places the slideshow in the header with a smooth curve obscurring a portion of the left side of the slide show. We implemented, host and maintain this site.

Tired of solid line borders around your slide show? Place your slide show under a frame of your choosing. A nice example of this is at www.chimps-inc.org. We designed, implemented, host and maintain this site.

Ezines

What's an ezine? Glad you asked. An ezine uses a PDF file as input and creates a Flash SWF file. You embed this SWF file on your Web page and your visitors can view the contents of the PDF with out opening Adobe Reader. You can view an example at publications.restorethedeschutes.org.

Jigsaw puzzles and word search games

Does your website cater to kids? Add jigsaw puzzles from your own photos or word search games from your word list. Nice examples of both appear on www.chimps-inc.org. The word list and jigsaw puzzles are specific to the chimpanzee sanctuary. Visit the site and learn about the chimpanzee sanctuary. We designed, implemented, host and maintain this site.

Maps

Need a map for your site? We host this map for the Tour des Chutes, a bicycle ride (actually 5 rides) in Bend, Oregon in July. The Tour des Chutes is a fund raiser for the Lance Armstrong Foundation and the St. Charles Cancer Survivorship Program. The rides are in beautiful Central Oregon, the dry side of Oregon. Fast rolling terrain, great mountain views, lots of farm and ranch land on mostly low traffic roads highlight these rides.

Questionaires and Quizzes

Tired of stodgy questionaires? Spiff up you questionaires, quizzes and general information pages. Many PDF files can be converted to HTML (the formatting language of the Web), with some javascript added to make them interesting and interactive. This example was developed for drive safe week and measures how distracted a driver you are. Take the Drive Safe Quiz. The Drive Safe Quiz was derived from Rate Your Risk, ©2010 Network of Employers for Traffic Safety.
